Salt Lake Kiwanis has served the community for more than one hundred years. Club members consider service to children to be “Priority One.” The club holds a weekly lunch meeting with guest speakers and discusses opportunities that the club can support through volunteering and/or financial support. The club consists of local business and community leaders active and retired with one goal in mind to provide community service. The club is always looking for new members to join who have the same priority.
The Club operates a monthly “Terrific Kids” program to honor young leaders at the middle school level called Terrific Kids. Then each May they honor all the Terrific Kids during a luncheon at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The program is a joint project with the Kiwanis club and community partners.
The club offers yearly scholarships, they assist with decorations and other activities at the Neighborhood House preschool and support local high school Key Clubs. Each year, the Club honors individual teachers for the outstanding efforts they make to educate children. The also provide financial assistance to the Salt Lake Salvation Army for the meals program. Periodically, the Club takes on special projects to serve specific needs of young children in our communities.
